Anyone ever eaten Golden SHINERS, FISH.I HAVE TONS OF THEM IN MY POND and was afraid of frying, they are good?

STOCKED 3apond15 years ago because too many shiners showed uo, (VIA BIRDS/ HERONS,AND THE LIKE BRINGING EGGS AND MINNOW SHINERS IN) i WAS THROWING EVERY SHINER AWAY OR USING THEM TO USE AS CATFISH AND STRIPER BAIT IN THE RIVER, BUT i SWEAR THE ONE AND ONLY ONE i CLEANED AND FRIED TONIGHT, TASTED A LITTLE LIKE A BREAM. IT HAS A VERY SWEET TASTE. LOTS OF LITTLE BONES, BUT THE SIZE OF THE SHINERS WAS 10 IN LONG AND FULL OF EGGS FROM THE HEAD TO THE TAIL. ANYONE ELSE TRIED EATING THESE CARP/GOLDFISH LOOKING TRASH? don't think I am shouting with the caps, just I have miniAcer 8.9 in computer and everytime I hit the a it presses on the caps button too.

CAN YOU PLEASE TONE IT DOWN.?..I CAN'T THINK OF A RESPONSE.

Enough teasing, I have to tell you that I have tried fried shiners before ( the jumbo's, wild caught) and I liked it. I didn't see a problem eating them. To be honest, I didn't see a difference the shiner or with the "bait" being canned by major companies and sold as Gourmet Sardines. Those who interpret bait as only bait or specie by specie as stereotypical junk are really missing out because even the fanciest restaurants are serving up "bait" at 75 bucks a plate. " Fugu, Escargot, Spanish Sardines in oil/tomato sauce, Octopus in ink, Squid, SHRIMP, mullet, Octopus, Carp. Shad, crabs, Mollusks of all sorts ( fresh and salt) and the list goes on are considered bait by millions. Hell, some in my area even consider Lobster as a bait for Grouper. I'll eat a lobster, I don't care what any of you say! : )
I guess what I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't get caught up with what every one else thinks as far as what is good to eat and what's not. Only you can be the judge of that and if you like what you eat then so be it. Being a bit daring is part of the fun and the experience is something you can share for a life time. ~good luck catchin'.
